• I’m experiencing a problem that seems to have dogged users of WP’s visual editors for a long time. Namely the random removal of </iframe> tags, leaving a dangling <iframe> which then provokes an “unexpected block content” error.
This happens more often on reloading a page for edit, but sometimes while editing as well. Replacing the missing tag by hand always resolves the error message, and if you then save out the page it functions properly.
This is quite evidently a bug and I’d like to know when it will be addressed.
Just so you don’t have ask, I am using WP version 5.8.3.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install and activate “Health Check”: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/health-check/
It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.
On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, without affecting normal visitors to your site. This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.
There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin and its Troubleshooting Mode at https://make.ww.wp.xz.cn/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/

t-p, I am good at debugging, however it is not my job to debug your software.
If you can put me in touch with the developers, I would be happy to try to help them diagnose this problem. But they have to fix it.

If you can put me in touch with the developers,

I think you’re misunderstanding things here. WordPress is both built and supported for free by volunteers who do this on their free time, so we don’t have any put me in touch with the developers support here.

However, if you think you found a bug, Create a ticket in our bug tracker.
