Block functions in widgets

I want to use the php conditional visibility of a block in a widget area, but none of the editorskit functions appear on blocks in the widget area – well not on blocks I am using.
I want sidebar menus and content to be page specific.
Have seen the settings page, blocks not there are title, paragraph, and others. There is no container block listed either in the widget group, but there is in another group but its not got the editorskit functions when used in a widget.
