• Ok… so it’s no drama of course to stick a background behind a section of text. We all know that! πŸ™‚ However, perhaps I’m not taking the right approach in skinning this cat!

    Look at my post http://royaltech.net/blog/?p=38 you can get the idea of what I’m trying to do. Sticking a set of open quotes and I want it to sit to the left of the text, with a slight overlap.

    Anyone got a suggestion on this one? Thanks.

  • Try:

    text-indent: (width of your quote image + space)

    From there play with your margins and padding to achieve your desired look.

    I may be incorrect, but I believe this is the way to achieve what you’re after.

    Ahh, text-indent will work for the first line (see link for what I’ve done for now). However I’d like to indent the whole block.

    Try playing with the blockquote padding then.
