    Hello,

I was running your plugin in test mode and I noticed that something obviously got blocked, though. It was a script which automates some posts on my blog. Written by myself and using a php class with an IXR client. (I got a 500 status got instead a 200, when turning off the plugin all ran as it should)

I was not able to find out, which bot in the table blocked it, since there seems to be no log file with a protocol of who was why blocked or did I just miss it ?

Beside that, why got my script blocked when the plugin is running in test mode ?

    Thanks for your reply.

    Hi,

In test mode it should not block.

    Please, look our FAQ page:
    http://stopbadbots.com/faq/

    the question:
How to know which nickname/ip/Referer is blocking?

    Cheers,
    Bill

Well, obviously it blocks, though. What I can do about this ?

And as for the FAQ: I already tried this but since the plugin is running for some days and with that it has many lines with values > 0 it’s quite a pain to get through it. In addition, while testing, other bots are hitting the website and alter values, too. So, that method to see which particular bot was blocked is not helpful in my case.

Btw, “alert me by email” is checked but no emails are sent.

    Cheers,
    Dragon

    Hi Dragon,

WordPress takes care of send email, not our plugin. We call the function wp_mail().

You can also look your log file. Your server create this log file (not our plugin).
This file has a date/time included.
If you call your “script” plugin, you have a limited window time to search for. It is not dificult find. Please, request support to your hosting company regards the log file.

We have a troubleshooting page to help to find some issues:
    http://siterightaway.net/troubleshooting/
(low memory, conflicts with other plugins, php errors, javascript errors and so on…)

    Cheers,
    Bill

    Well, ok…

All plugins using the wp_mail() function work but not yours. Not sure if with that you can say that there is no error in your plugin.

Your plugin blocks although it should not block because in test mode. Seems as if you do just ignore that.

And I did look at the logfiles but that did not help – because of that I though I would ask here.

In my opinion, a blocking plugin which has no own logfile is not helpful at all becaue one can not really see what the plugin is doing and why.

But nevermind, I will just turn that plugin off and will use an alternative.

    Hi Dragon,

Our plugin works fine on more than 10,000 websites.
The website is a system. Depends on:
    Hardware
    Operating system and version
Hosting software (like cPanel or other)
    Database software and version
    WordPress version
    Other Plugins
    Theme installed
Malware or hacker scripts hidden installed
    and so on.

    Cheers,
    Bill
