The breadcrumbs show the correct navigation but when I click the categories it always leads to the homepage. I want it to link to the respective categories. I have tried it with Yoast SEO but it’s always linking back to the homepage.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @chukhutan

I’ve looked at your website and noticed that everything is working as it should. You’ve mentioned Yoast SEO and as far as I know, that plugin has options to disable various archives throughout the website. I’m guessing you’ve already found these options, since everything seems to be working correctly 🙂

    Thanks.

@cteduard Sorry what I meant to say was I also tried it with Yoast as the breadcrumb source. (also tried it with Rankmath). Currently, it’s running on the default source.
Have you tried clicking on the breadcrumbs? Shouldn’t it lead to the categories page? It leads to the homepage no matter.
Archives? How do you set that up?
Sorry I am dumb and have no web dev experience whatsoever.

    Hey @chukhutan

Ok, let’s try a few things.

First off, disable the Yoast plugin completely and check out if the breadcrumbs are working. If they do, then it’s clear it is a conflict with the configuration of Yoast.

Otherwise, try clearing the permalinks cache by going to the WP Dash -> Settings -> Permalinks -> Save Changes without changing anything. And send us a screenshot from there, it would be very helpful.

    Thanks!

Yes, I currently have no SEO plugin installed. I have tried clearing the permalinks cache as you have said and it’s still leading to the homepage.
    What screenshot do you require?

    WORDPRESS

    Hello @chukhutan

Ah found the culprit. I was looking in the wrong place.

Your problem is the logo, not the breadcrumbs. The logo you’re using has a boatload of transparent blank space around it and you’re using some optimole optimisation plugin that forcefully replaces images on the front end.

The logo having a lot of transparent space around it, actually covers the breadcrumbs area and that’s why you get redirected to the homepage all the time, because you’re clicking on the logo instead of breadcrumbs –https://ibb.co/LrMn59M

My recommendation would be to adjust the logo and remove all the unnecessary transparent space. This is the final solution.

    Thanks.
