In setting, you must have made logon mandatory to leave a comment
Check this out.
That is a screenshot of my own website. If you look under the ‘other comment settings’ area, there is a checkbox for exactly what you are referencing. Make sure that that is not checked. I’d bet that’s your exact issue.

I am in the process of building my website and have struck this issue.
There is a comment section at the foot of my podcast pages, which is what I want.
However when someone tries to enter a comment they are asked for a WordPress login. Have I mucked up or missed some part of the configuration.
