Blog Comments Received

    I am a newbie here so I apologize if it seems I repeat myself but I cannot figure out what is going on. I keep receiving comments, once in awhile, about a post I did over a month ago. When I check my jetpack user stats it indicates no visits or views to the blog for the date and time of the comment received. So what is going on? The comment seems legit enough and when I checked the IP address and web site coming from the commentator, they all seem legit. Am I being hacked, spammed or what? Also, I cannot seem to find the checkbox that will send me an email to my blog email account whenever a comment is received. They show up on the blog’s dashboard, which is okay, but not the blog’s email inbox. It did when I first started this blog but not anymore. Confused. You bet. Thanks in advance.

    Thxs for that….I have tried the Dashboard > Settings > Discussion checkbox, have checked them off but still no dice. Individual posts show up in the email account as having been received but not the comments. Could it be that if comments are being made by someone who came across a blog post via a google search of a subject matter and not via viewing the blog itself, their respective comment will not show up in the blog’s email account?

    I received a comment a day or so after I checked those boxes in “discussion” then checked my stats and there was no indication of any view or visit to the blog. The comment notification appeared on the dashboard, which is okay, but it was not received in the blog’s email account. That is what is confusing me because previous comments came to my email account first and were reflected by a visit / view in the stats.
