Instead it is showing old home page content.
Have you tried: Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Also, any op cache or content network cache, as well as Cloudflare, clear those caches.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Tara.
I don’t think there are any caching plugins. I’ve put a list below.
Sorry I don’t know what an op cache or content network cache is and don’t have access to the server.
I did reset my browser cache.
The thing is the content displayed on that page right now is not old content and was never displayed there, so I doubt it could be a caching issue.
It seems to me as if it has to be a WordPress glitch. ???

Could the problem be related to this:
Posts page is inheriting template from Front Page
What’s appearing is different from the home page template but more like it than the correct blog page. Is there a way to check or specify what template the blog uses?

One other thought: I can see the correct page when I go into Pages > Edit Page. When I preview the page, I see the correct content. I restored to a previous version in case that might help. (The page had not been updated in four months, so it wasn’t a recent change there that caused the problem.) When I preview the page from the blog, it has the correct content. But the live site still shows the wrong content.

So I’ve done a kludgy workaround, which I don’t consider a fix because I don’t know what the implications are.* I created a new page that I think is identical to the blog page. I designated it as the Posts Page. Now when you click the Blogs link at the top of the page, the “blog” that shows up is correct. HOWEVER, that is not the Posts Page. I don’t know what it is. If you go to the Posts Page, it has the same formatting problem that I started out with.
Any thoughts??
*I made the permalink for the new page almost identical to that of the original (just added an “s” to “blog”) so if the page shows up somewhere unintentionally it won’t be obvious that it’s a test. The permalinks are:

Sorry, I was getting frustrated at getting no response while my client was expecting some sort of update.
Since things have continued to seem OK with my previous kludge, I tried disabling the posts page completely:
Select Appearance > Customize.
Select Static Front Page > Posts page > —Select— [First item on the list, essentially not selecting any actual page.]
The blog still seems to be working.
I don’t consider this resolved because I do not understand why selecting no blog page would make the blog page function properly. If anyone can shed some light, I’d appreciate it.
Thanks.
