Blog down after PHP mess

    Hi
    Please help! my blog is down. I am getting the following error on the any page of the blog AND on the WP dashboard itself (ie frontend and backend not working. I basically cannot even log in anymore and try and do anything!

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in D:Hosting10966794htmlwp-contentthemesacademicafunctions.php on line 420

    This happened as I was trying to change the template tags to get a plugin working (not being a php expert I probably messed up). The problem is that I cannot access the edit from my dashboard to try and restore the original functions.php file…

    Please help me!

    You’ll need to use FTP or Cpanel to access the site files on the server to deactivate your theme by changing the name on the theme’s folder:

    wp-content
    themes
       academica.HOLD

    That should let you login again.

    i will try that thanks.
    do you think I can just reupload functions.php and go back to my previous version of child theme?
