• The blog was running version 2.3 (according to the “readme” file on the server), which worked smoothly until last night–last blog comment was 5:30pm. No parts of the blog work today; 500 internal server error comes up instead: see http://www.queensbridgetheater.com

Logging in to my site via FTP, I see that all files seem to have been wiped: index is empty, all dates set back to Jan 10’08 12am exactly–looks suspicious. However, the custom theme is retained, even though the date on the file is wrong (i.e. earlier than the changes had been made). I can’t find any of the real content, though!

The server error references Apache/1.3.37 Server at queensbridgetheater.com Port 80. My host is in the process of upgrading to Apache 2.2, but I don’t see my server mentioned yet in the list of those upgraded. (Also sending them an email, of course)

What happened–anyone? Where did my content go and how can I restore it? I’ve done no edits to the blog between yesterday (when it was still working) and today, so clearly something went wrong between my server and WordPress.

Just checked: the database still exists on my server (phew), so it’s a communication error somewhere along the line. Help?
