BLOG SPAM’ing

    We are receiving a lot of Blog Comment SPAM. Of course, we REJECT theses items by marking them SPAM. Curiously, each SPAM comment, though structured the same, has a different Spoofed IP, and they are getting/claiming ‘Author’ status.

    Is there a way to get to the SPAM filters to add/modify the entries?

    Or, is there possibly a PLUGIN that can be used to stop ‘bots’ from entering comments?

    FYI, posting in all caps is shouting and generally considered rude 😉 You don’t need that much emphasis.

    Plugins, yes. Akismet for one. Bad Behavior for two. Try those.

    BTW, the ‘caps’ were only for emphasis, as you pointed out. Also, the ‘caps’ were used to denote commands, or in the case of SPAM, which is usually in caps.
