I am trying to create blog posts. I have a generic “Blog” page created. I have posts created. I have customized my Blog Template through the Twenty Twenty Four theme customizer. But I cannot get my posts to connect to my Blog Template. When I try to “Swap Template” the Blog Template is not an option to choose from. How do get the Blog Template to connect to the posts?

    Hi, @sitkagirl99835:

First, make sure your homepage and posts page are set correctly. To do this, go to Settings > Reading in your WordPress admin area.

If you want to use a static homepage (instead of showing your latest posts on the front page), you’ll need to choose a page to be your homepage and another to be your posts page. Set the “Homepage” to the page you’d like as your front page, and set the “Posts page” to the page you’ve titled “Blog.” Don’t forget to save your changes.

Next, head to the Site Editor to work on the Blog Template. Go to Appearance > Editor (Site Editor). In the editor, open the left-hand sidebar and click on Templates. Here, look for a template named “Blog Home” or “Index”, as these are often used to display your posts. If you don’t see a template that fits your needs, you can create a new one specifically for the page you assigned as your Posts page.

If you want to customize it, click on the Query loop block and then in Replace to choose a different pattern. From there, you can personalize each child block.

    Hope this helps,

    Jos.
