Bold button in posts and pages

Is there any way of stopping WordPress from automatically changing my codes from <b> to <strong>, or making it so that when you click the bold button it uses <b> instead of <strong>? When I use <strong> it enlarges the text as well as bolds it, which is annoying. I think it’s a problem with my theme, but I would prefer to make the fix this way instead…
