Bootstrap Shortcodes

This is a great theme, thank you!
I am using the free version of Tonic and I am having trouble with the bootstrap shortcodes.

I had to install this plugin https://github.com/TheWebShop/bootstrap-shortcodes to make it work, but from the documentation I should be able to just write

[button]some button text[/button]

Am I missing something?
