• After deliberating over which theme to use I chose Botiga as it had good reviews and was supposedly compatible with Ecwid. I have found the theme really difficult to use. The changes that I am trying to make, are not happening in real time. I have to wait sometimes over an hour to see the effect of my edits which makes it almost impossible to make adjustments. The menu/header sections are proving the most difficult. I am trying to achieve a clear white menu bar as per the attached but with Home, Blog, Shop and Contact similar to the attached. I gave up in the end and just have a three bar menu in the mobile version and no menu at all in the desktop version. All attempts to create a contact page failed. I ended up paying for the help of the lady who built my original website and even she struggled.

  • Hi @sgcards,

    Thank you for reaching out!

I’m afraid that Botiga is not currently compatible with Ecwid, this theme is optimised for use with the WooCommerce plugin. I’m genuinely sorry for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.

I noticed that your website has the Jetpack Boost plugin installed. This plugin is designed to speed up your site by caching content and automatically clears cached content when posts or comments are updated. Given this, it’s a bit unusual that the menu edits are not reflecting immediately. Would you mind clearing your cache and temporarily disabling Jetpack Boost and any other caching plugins to see if that resolves the update delay? This simple step may help in determining whether the caching mechanism is contributing to the issue.

Please let me know how this goes!

    Thank you!

That’s strange as I definitely read somewhere that Botiga was compatible with Ecwid. That was one of the main reasons that I chose it. My Ecwid store is operating fine. It is just the menu and contact forms that I am having a problem with now. I deactivated Jetpack Boost and the Clear Cache For Me plugin. I have also deactivated Elementor plugin in case that was affecting Botiga but still no joy.

    Hi @sgcards

I’m glad to hear that Ecwid is working well on your end!

Would you mind verifying if you are following the steps in this screen cast while modifying your main menu? Could you please share the steps that you are following on your end so that I can test this further on my end? Also, would you mind sharing more details about the trouble you are experiencing with the contact form?

    Thank you!

Hi. I have followed the steps on your screen cast but the menu bar is still not appearing. The problem with the Contact page was that a New York address was automatically populating the page. As a guess, this may have been coming from Ecwid. Anyway, I have now amended this page and have added a Contact Form for customers to complete. My menu bar, based on my selections, should now read Home, Blog, Online Shop, Contact.

Given all the problems that I am having, can you recommend an alterative easy to use theme for me that is compatible with Ecwid and will achieve the current look of my website but with better functionality?

    Hi @sgcards

    Apologies for the weekend delay.

It looks like you have enabled both the primary and secondary menus on the page. Your primary menu is also dispaying as expected Home, Blog, Online Shop, Contact. It ls likely that you are editing a different menu that is not yet enabled on the page. To edit the primary menu, here is a different approach that you can use: Go to Customizer > Menus > Main as shown here. On this page, you can add and remove items from the menu and also set a new menu as the “Primary” menu.

I’m gla to hear that the contact page is now resolved.

I’m afraid that I’m not familiar with working of the Ecwid plugin and I might not be best position to advise on themes that fully support this plugin.

    I hope this helps!

Hi. I clicked on Customizer, then menus but Main didn’t come up as an option. It just says Footer, Footer 2, Header then a Create New Menu button. Also, there is now a completely different menu on my Blog Page which seems to be incorporating some Woocommerce features. This menu reads : Blog, Cart, Checkout, Contact Us, Home, My account, Online Shop, Shop

    Hi @sgcards

Sorry for the confusion there. “Main” is the name of the menu on my end so it makes sense that this would not be available on your end. The quickest way to resolve this would be creating a new menu item and setting this as the primary menu by following these steps.

Please let me know if this helps to resolve the issue.

    Thank you!

    Hi @kmacharia

I have followed the recommended steps and created a New Menu as directed. This hasn’t resolved the problem however. Whilst the menu bars are still appearing in the mobile view (which is fine), there is no menu appearing at all in the desktop view.

    Hi @sgcards

It is certainly very odd and unexpected that this menu is not working on your end. To speed things up, would you mind dropping us a line via our contact form so that we can check if there is an edge case bug that is causing this issue?

    Thank you!
