This happened once long time ago and it comes back again.

I have a website with breadcrumbs setting:

[Post type] > [Parent Category] > [Child Category] > [Post title]

When I create the post and preview, the Child Category was there. After updated the latest plugin, my breadcrumb only shows :

[Post type] > [Parent Category] > [Post title]

All my post are under this url format since day one:

    https://site.com/Post type/Post title

Is there any update I need to set up to fix this problem?

    Hello @maybellyne

I am using Version 25.7. I think it is the latest version for the free version now. Also all my theme and other plugins are the latest version.

On the Tools page, I saw a green label said “SEO data optimization complete”. Does it auto run the data optimization again every time I click WordPress > Yoast SEO > Tools? I can’t find any button to run it again.

Anyway, after I click it, the breadcrumb is still missing the third level.

It is still looks like below format:

Home > [Post type] > [Parent Category] > [Post title]

I am looking for the breadcrumb like this:

Home > [Post type] > [Parent Category] > [Child Category] > [Post title]

Is there other settings I need to beware while I want the Yoast SEO shows the Child Category?

Hi @maybellyne , I did more test today, I found the url for the child category page in sitemap. I found below link in my sitemap.xml

    https://site.com/%5Bpost type]_categories-sitemap.xml

And when I click on it, a list of url in this format:

    https://site.com/%5Bpost type]_categories/[Child category]

So the pages are on the site but just it didn’t show up in breadcrumb.

Also before I post here I asked someone to try to create the child category and see if he can see it on breadcrumb, he also failed to show the child category with this latest version plugin, that’s why he suggested me to post here for help. I’m not sure it is a bug or just something I didn’t set it right.

    Thanks for the help.

Due to the nature of the issue, we’ll need to take a look at your setup. However, we are unable to do it here as this is a public forum. You could consider purchasing a Yoast SEO Premium subscription since it comes with email support. Then we can investigate the issue further directly on your setup privately.
