@rainbow15
You identified multiple queries in your thread and I’ve responded to them below.
The Yoast breadcrumbs setting is to enable or disable breadcrumb navigation to appear in the theme.
– That’s correct!
It’s not to enable or disable breadcrumbs structured data/metadata, because that is automatically generated regardless of the breadcrumbs settings in Yoast. Is this correct?
– Yes, this is also correct! However, if you want to disable the breadcrumb graph pieces you can use this filter: https://developer.yoast.com/features/schema/api/#removing-graph-pieces
And I can leave it disabled if my theme (Blocksy) has default breadcrumbs?
– Sure, if your theme do implements its own breadcrumb output you can leave Yoast breadcrumb disable.

Thank you so much Suwash for your helpful answers! 🙂
I also have a related question: search console is showing that I have breadcrumbs error – missing “item” – on my web story.
In this case, do I have to enable breadcrumbs in Yoast, so I can add “web stories” to story archive in yoast?
Sorry for the somewhat dumb questions. I am a bit confused about how to fix the error. 🙂
Could you please share with us the sample URL where this schema error is being shown?
hi Suwash! the error is solved now. 🙂 thank you so much!
Hi @rainbow15
Just to let you know, yes, you’ll probably have to set a breadcrumb title for your web stories archive in the Search Appearance section to resolve the missing “item” in the breadcrumb schema output.
We’re glad to hear that the error is resolved with your web stories!
