Breaks Category Post Widget

We have a category post widget showing the latest article in a category on our sidebar. When I search using the Advanced Search Widget, that category post widget suddenly changes to show the first search result (which isn’t even necessarily in the same category). With this plugin disabled, there’s no problem. Any ideas how I can remedy this?
