Breaks Elementor
-
Did you even test this plugin?
With it enabled, I can’t save any Elementor pages. Just returns a 504 error. With the plugin disabled, everything works fine.
Please tell me you actually tested this with Elementor.

Hi @jackthestripper,
I’m pretty sure @salvatorefresta tested the plugin with elementor as he uses that as well (I don’t). But this doesn’t mean that the is no issues. Let’s wait for him to come online and test it.
In the mean time if you can please share a screenshot of the issue you are facing and also if you can share the screenshot of browser developer console if you can.
As these screenshots are really helpful to understand, debug and pushing a fix for the issues.I am using Elementor with this plugin. Previously I was also unable to save and sometimes see the changes made in my pages. But did not see 504 Error, ever. Sometimes saved changes would be reset (as pages never updated…even though WordPress would show the Successfully Updated message.)
After playing around with few options;
Enable fallback page cache,
Add browser caching rules for static assets
Force cache bypassing for backend with an additional Cloudflare page rule
Use cURLAnd Cloudflare Edge Cache TTL.
The problem was resolved. Do not know What particular option was causing not to show saved changes.
Now things are in perfect combination.
And yes, do keep on Purging Manually or with options while you are testing this plugin. Sometimes entering the ‘Developmental Mode’ of CF might also be helpful in order to understand the problem.
Solution: Testing, Testing, and Testing, till you get the right formulae.
Hi @jackthestripper ,
With it enabled, I can’t save any Elementor pages. Just returns a 504 error. With the plugin disabled, everything works fine.
I’m using Elementor and Elementor Pro (latest version) in many websites. Can you share your error log when the 504 errors appears?
And can you tell me if you are under Litespeed Server?
Sometimes saved changes would be reset (as pages never updated…even though WordPress would show the Successfully Updated message.)
Hi @shadmuhammad ,
did you check on log file if the page cache is automatically purged when you update the page with Elementor?@salvatorefresta: Currently, everything is working fine.
A week ago was facing this issue. It was quite tricky to crack it.
Yes, log file do indicate to ‘purge specific URLs’ on-page update.
I’ve had to roll back to a previous version because I’ve got a lot of work on at the mo.
I’ll test it out again later tonight. There’s definitely, 100% a compatibility issue with Elementor, on certain setups. I’m not on LiteSpeed. I’m on Cloudways.
Whenever the plugin is installed I’m unable to save Elementor pages. When it’s disabled, everything is fine. I also tested it on a clean install and encountered the same problem, so there’s definitely an issue on some setups. Not good.
@shadmuhammad which URLs were you asked to specifically purge?
I need more details.
If you are unable to save pages, maybe something on your error log appears.
Did you enable the fallback cache? If yes, try to disable it and test again.
If you prefer, I can check it by myself.
UPDATE
This plugin automatically purges the cache when the following events are fired:
- elementor/editor/after_save: https://code.elementor.com/php-hooks/#elementoreditorafter_save
- elementor/core/files/clear_cache: https://code.elementor.com/hooks/elementor-core-files-clear_cache/
These are official events.

@salvatorefresta as I mentioned, I have a lot of client work on at the mo. Testing this will take time, but you can clearly see there is an issue with Elementor; I’m not the only one who has reported it. It’s not a figment of my imagination.
I’ll see if I can install it again and get to the bottom of it.
Hi @jackthestripper,
No one said the issue a figment of your imagination. As we are unable to reproduce the issue on our end if you do not provide more information by doing the above mentioned tests it is impossible for us to fix it.
Hope you will understand. 🙂Exactly.
I just finish to setups a new website with the latest elementor pro version. I was able to update existing pages and create new ones without problem.
Maybe you have a particular setup but if you don’t give us more information, it’s hard for me to fix. If you want, you can create a “staging” version of the website and give me access.
Hi,
any news about this thread?I can’t replicate the issue
