Hi laketime,
This sounds like a plugin conflict of some kind. Can you list the other plugins you are using so I can test against them?
I’ve used my theme with no plugins other than CTC and it still happens, but when I turn the CTC off the control panel works correctly.
I have ran it with WP Google Maps and Huge IT Image Gallery.
I’m using 2014 theme at pickwickboatrental.com.
I do very much like your plugins, it’s very advanced. I wish I could figure it out.
For now I’m leaving CTC off and my WP control panel works, with the above mentioned plugins reactivated. My WP version is 4.0 and the latest version of 2014. I’m using the child theme that CTC created, but leaving CTC deactivated. I can make my custom changes in the editor. If I need a file like header.php I just copy over from the parent to the child in Godaddy File Manager.
Sorry for the problem
laketime,
This usually happens when a plugin uses its own version of the jQuery libraries, causing a conflict with the WP core libraries and has nothing to do with CTC.
If you want to troubleshoot further feel free to reply this post but for now I am closing this ticket.
Thanks lilaeamedia. I still don’t know why my control panel works sometimes when I click a button and seconds later no work. I can’t find a way to fix it?
It may not be CTC, because it does it without plugins. I’ve tried a lot of things to fix this problem, but still continues. Even contacted Godaddy several times and they haven’t helped. Any info would be very appreciated.
Is this a characteristic of WP?
Thanks
WordPress is tested by hundreds of users before each release. It is very unlikely that the core is causing this. If it does it without plugins then it is being caused the theme itself.
Install and activate one of the WP default themes (twenty-fourteen, etc.). Try to duplicate the behavior with the native theme. If you are able to duplicate the error then we can rule out that theory.
If you cannot duplicate the error the reactivate your theme. You want to recreate the behavior and then right click anywhere on the page and “Inspect Element.” This will give you access to the script error log. You will be looking for a Javascript error (usually has a red X and a line number).
Copy and paste any Javascript errors into an email and send them to [email protected]
If you would like me to troubleshoot this for you, create a temporary admin account and send it to the same address.
I want to resolve this issue for you and anyone else experiencing the same behavior.
I may have fixed it. It appears to have been with Chrome. I did the following and the pages load very fast and WP is working.
The solution to my WP problem to be:
in Google Chrome go to settings page,
then open advanced settings on the bottom of that page,
go down to the bottom of that page to the ‘System’ section and
Uncheck the selection for ‘use hardware acceleration when available’.
I’ll will work with WP a day or two for testing, then respond.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed. CTC is a Great Plugin!
Great. Let me know but for now I am closing this ticket.
Thanks,
