    Hi there!

I’m so grateful to find this plugin after the WordPress importer stopped working.

I’m running into an issue with my migration clients. All of the imported images are broken for some reason. The importer keeps the working img src URL from Blogger, but the WordPress file the image links to is broken.

Is there an update that can be done to fix this? I have upset clients 🙁

    Hi NorthernBelleDiaries,

have you checked if your uploads directory is writable by the server? Have you tried to manually upload an image in the media library?

    Yurfari–

I mistyped. It’s not ALL of the images. It’s only a few images that are not importing correctly.

For example, this broken image URL (which leads to a 404 Error message):
    http://www.athoughtfulplaceblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/emilyaclark%25255B3%25255D.jpg

Here is the original image URL (which is still shown in the post as the img src URL in the post HTML)
    http://lh3.ggpht.com/-P2LgZwegj3s/VG60yVwr5RI/AAAAAAAAab4/i93JhDSXvws/emilyaclark_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg

Do you have any idea how or why this is happening?

    yurifari

    (@yurifari)

Ok, I’m sorry, I did not understand 🙂

The original image is named […]/emilyaclark_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg, so the imported image should be: http://www.athoughtfulplaceblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/emilyaclark_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg (emilyaclark_thumb[…]1[…].jpg not emilyaclark[…]3[…].jpg) that is in the right place.

    Do you agree?

    Thread Starter La La Lisette

    (@northernbellediaries)

    Correct!

I’m not sure why this is happening to the images. It’s affecting the ability to set Featured Images.

Do you know of a solution?

    yurifari

    (@yurifari)

What is the problem with featured images? Can you link me an example to figure it out?

    Thread Starter La La Lisette

    (@northernbellediaries)

The problem with the featured images is the same issue–the uploaded image URL is broken, however, the image is stored in WordPress. Just like you were able to figure out the correct URL for that […]/emilyaclark_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg. I cannot set the blog to display Featured Images at the moment because they are all broken images.

I haven’t enough information to help you, can you send me the link to the Blogger blog and to the new WordPress blog? By email, if you would stay private.

The Blogger blog currently redirects to the WordPress site, and in order to preserve SEO I cannot remove the 301 Redirect.

    The WordPress blog is http://www.athoughtfulplaceblog.com

You can see the problems with the Related Posts images (which pulls the Featured Image for each post) as some of them are broken.

    Hello,

Regarding this bug, has this been fixed? I am also having the same error where the <a herf > will have the blogspot url and the <img src> will have the correct WordPress url.

    Hi,

    Same for me. Running in WP 4.2.2;
But just for a dozen of articles…

    Example:

    <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
    <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/[...]/s1600/11215163_10153346231744450_7439252135428949705_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="[...]/11215163_10153346231744450_7439252135428949705_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

It will be great if you found a “replace all links” solution.

    Ludovic

I on it right now, sorry for the delay
