I was testing the plugin last year and then when I was done, I deactivated it and deleted it. I also deleted the file folder that had been created under uploads through cPanel.

This year I re-installed the plugin but when I add the short code [shared_files] I get an error: Can’t read file (permission denied or file not found). There seems to be some left over broken links from my previous testing. How do I get rid of them and clear the slate so that I can test from a clean starting point?

Also when I am done testing, how do I delete files I upload?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

When you delete the files from the file management at WP admin / Shared Files, it also deletes the actual files from the file folder on the server. But if you delete the files directly from the file folder by using cPanel / ftp / ssh connection, it leaves the file metadata at WP admin / Shared Files and would result in that kind of situation you described (even if you delete the plugin).

Now you could just delete the file data from WP admin / Shared Files, it just deletes the data from the custom post type and you can then start again testing the plugin.

When you are done testing, you can delete all files directly from the file management at WP admin / Shared Files, after emptying trash it also removes the actual files from the file folder.
