I’m using the latest Business Directory Plugin (v6.4.18) on a site running:

    • WordPress 6.8.3
    • Astra Theme (v4.11.13)
    • Permalinks set to Post name
    • CPT integration enabled
    • “Remove listing ID from URLs” is also enabled under SEO settings

    🔍 Issue:

I have a directory listing titled Los Angeles, and when I access it, the plugin generates the URL as:

    https://californiabucketlists.com/los-angeles/los-angeles/

This appears to be a conflict between:

    • A directory listing named “Los Angeles”
    • A parent category or slug also using “los-angeles”

There is no WordPress Page with the same slug, and I’ve already flushed permalinks.❓Question:

I want to avoid this doubled /los-angeles/los-angeles/ structure for both SEO and user experience.

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

    Hi @nkwebdesign

Thanks for reaching out to us about this!

This is likely happening because there isn’t a main directory page set up on your site. The Business Directory Plugin relies on a page containing the [businessdirectory] shortcode to properly handle and display many of the directory-related URLs.

Please make sure you have a page with the [businessdirectory] shortcode. This page’s URL would look something like: https://californiabucketlists.com/business-directory/los-angeles/los-angeles/

After creating that main directory page, try flushing your permalinks again to ensure everything updates correctly.

Please try that and let me know if that helps!

    Best regards,
