    Hey –

This weekend I received an email from WP that the WP Sentry plugin was experiencing difficulties. It broke our site.

    Publicly WP said:
The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

I had to log into WP Recovery mode to deactivate it and get the site back up. Would love to reactivate the plugin. What do you need from me to make this happen?

    Hi,

That’s a shame, sorry that happened.

Do please note that 3.0 has some breaking changes that you might have not expected, check out the changelogs here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-sentry-integration/#developers.

If you did or you are not integrating with Sentry yourself could you let me know what the email said you should have received from WordPress? I would love to find out what went wrong so it can be fixed!

Thanks so much – I looked into changelogs. We were running PHP 7.0, so upgrading fixed the problem.

    Below is the actual error:
An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 83 of the file /home/searchyo/searchwavelength.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-sentry-integration/vendor/zendframework/zend-diactoros/src/functions/marshal_uri_from_sapi.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ‘?’, expecting variable (T_VARIABLE)

Ah, thank you. I am not sure why WordPress allows you to even install the plugin when not on the correct PHP version. I will make some changes to fix this from causing issues in the future. Thank you for reporting!
