broken site help please
-
- Some development work was made on the site for the sake of a sale. At the end of the sale, certain things were turned off. At this point, it was noticed that products were displaying incorrect information, such as the wrong images, wrong prices and no categories.
- The website was restored from a backup to a time prior to the development work occurring. This did not resolve the issue, and products remained broken.
- The issue persists in every available backup, spanning a range of
30days. - A copy of the database was exported directly through MySQL, including a number of additional options for compatibility; however, the same issue persists.
- WooCommerce products themselves appear to be present, but a lot (not all) associated information is either incorrect or entirely non-existent. One of the most important pieces of data is the categories that each product was assigned, as this prevents them from showing up on the relevant pages.
- Standard WordPress posts still retain their original categories. This is true for all prior backups, too.
Ideally, the end goal is to:
- Fix the immediate issue at hand, which is a site containing broken products, preventing customers from ordering.
- Identify the underlying issue resulting in WooCommerce products losing associated data.
- If possible, provide a fix for the issue. The site needs to be in a state where it can safely be restored in the event a rollback is required.
