Sounds like you did not upload all the WordPress 2.3.1 files. Download a fresh copy and try again. Make sure that you unzip the file with folders enabled, not all the files go in the same directories.
Hi,
thank you but I did what you said, re downloaded and then uploaded it with the folders intact and did the install and got the same errors.
Then I suggest you get somebody else to install it for you. Try install4free.
in the user area I get the following error:
Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in /home/virtual/site108/fst/var/www/html/helensworlds/wp-admin/users.php on line 55
could it be related?
also, could it be a zend issue?
I have:
Zend Engine v1.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2003 Zend Technologies
with Zend Extension Manager v1.0.8, Copyright (c) 2003-2005, by Zend Technologies
with Zend Optimizer v2.5.10, Copyright (c) 1998-2005, by Zend Technologies
ok.
my last attempt for getting 2.3.1 to work I have done the following:
uploaded wordpress into the directory. Unzipped via ssh. (that was after ftping about 10 times.
changed the config file.
did the install. it said it was successful.
then I logged in again.
Got the following on the presentation page:
Current Theme
Array Array by Array
Array
All of this theme’s files are located in Array.
Available Themes
Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
Name Description
WordPress Classic Template is missing.
WordPress Default Template is missing.
then got the following on the user page:
Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in /home/virtual/site108/fst/var/www/html/wordpress/wp-admin/users.php on line 55
I have deleted the databases each time I tried a new install. all files were deleted.
is there an answer for these problems? Does it take 50 times to reinstall?
what can I do.
I need help.
Thanks in advance.
Does it take 50 times to reinstall?
No. Repeating the install over and over won’t fix anything. Doing the same thing repeatedly doesn’t actually make any changes.
You never mentioned the “Array” problem until now. Why didn’t you post that to begin with?
The Zend Optimizer 2.5.10 is most likely your problem. We’ve seen that symptom on these forums before. You can either disable it, or upgrade it. Either way will fix the issue.
is there a way to disable it in the script?
No. If you don’t know how to disable or upgrade it, talk to your host and have them do it.
Yeah, I’m also getting
Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
This is on current version WPMU (just installed a few days ago) and the default and classic themes do work. However, any new themes I copy up to the server are “Broken Themes.”
What I want to know is, what is “a template”? Obviously these themes have stylesheets and various other pages, but the magic “template” is not being detected. What does WPMU need, to see this fabled template of story and song??
