Hello @generosus,
The feature includes a rule in the htaccess of the website which alters how the Nginx will store cached content. The newly generated cache will be based on the browser of the visitor. Given that you already use “Cache by device” by APO I don’t think you would benefit from this feature being enabled.
Nevertheless, feel free to test it via a staging website using multiple different browsers and see the results.

Hi @k3llanved,
Thanks for the quick reply. That’s what we thought.
We’re now testing our site with both Cloudflare APO and SGO’s Browser-Specific Caching enabled. So far, no issues. If anything, we see a slight gain in TTFB and/or screen display response times. We will wait another 2-3 days to allow cache to build and propagate, then share our final opinion on this.
Stay tuned 🙂
Hi @k3llanved,
After further testing, we have determined there are no benefits in activating Cloudflare APO Cache by Device Type nor SGO”s Browser-Specific Caching features under the following conditions:
- Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile versions of the website are the same.
- Website is fully responsive.
Also, as you mentioned, there are no benefits in activating SGO’s Browser-Specific Caching option when Cloudflare APO Cache by Device Type is activated.
Thank you.
Hello @generosus ,
