browsers problem

Hello,

i have changed my file root, so that i have removed the /wordpress from the site url, following the instructions on the forum guides.

but have created a new problem on google chrome the home page is displayed as in IE but i have no background!

And as for firefox the homepage is will not display only the 1and1 default site will, but if i add /wordpress i get my site but it cannot find the homepage.
