Browsing alternatives to Scroll

Hi,

I am trying to explore alternatives to vertical scrolling of a webpage (wordpress). I’ve seen a few examples of horizontal scrolling mainly for portfolio type pages. Although neat, but not sure how viewers would interact with it.

So I am basically looking for other alternatives to vertical scrolling of a webpage. For example

1) Flip like a book, there are a lot of plugins for magazine/catalog type content, how can make the entire page flip to the next content?

2) Drag horizontally as if you were dragging an old script.

I would really appreciate if someone could help me point in the right direction for either of the above alternatives, also it would be fun and great to explore or have a discussion on other ways possible.

Vertical seems so 2000’s maybe its time to change!
