• I installed this plugin today as I wanted to move the admin area on a few sites I have. This worked brilliantly!

I also made a number of Firewall changes and I was delighted to see that this SEEMED to be implemented, at least that’s what the plugins control panel said. Just for curiosity I checked my .htaccess files to see what changes were made. Unfortunately no changes were made as it turned out that my ISP will only allow my .htaccess to be changed with the permission of 777. I changed the permissions temporarily and the changes were implemented without any glitches.

I think there should be a check to see if the .htaccess file is actually writeable. There could be folks out there thinking they have a strong firewall and have nothing at all!

Hi WillOfTheWeb I would never use 777. That is very dangerous please read the following article from ww.wp.xz.cn.

    Kind regards

I mentioned above that I changed the permissions to 777 temporarily. I reverted back to 644 immediately after applying the settings.

Hi WillOfTheWeb yes you did report that above.

I am trying to workout why you say there is a bug? Can you elaborate further so that the developers can check this if it is a bug.

    Thank you
