Bug? Bookings with link causing 403

Hi

Have finally found what is causing 403 errors – when a user submits a new event with a https://xyz type link in the ‘How to book’ field. If there are words before it eg Go to https://xyz to book it works and if the link is http://www.something it also works.

So, is there a way for me to take this field out of the form OR is this a bug and can it be fixed asap please? I want users to be able to put in their own link to what ever booking platform they want to use (if the field is removed, then they can add this in their description), so either solution is fine, as long as these errors can be stopped.

I would have to create an account so you can try (later on pc); I think I have explained it in quite a bit of detail. Have you tested with the examples given? Should the field take a https link without a problem ? Thanks

sorry but we are not allowed to login to your site however we are not able to replicate this on our test server using the latest EM Dev version 5.9.5.2

also, if you are using https you can try to install wp plugin to force ssl/https

I see what you mean however we are unable to replicate this using the latest EM dev version 5.9.5.2

For dev version upgrade – http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/upgrade-dev-version/

also, just to narrow down the problem and help us debug the issue is it possible to try the following temporarily:

– deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems

Have tried many times to get the dev update, but after clicking the button, the update does not appear in plugins or updates. Is there a direct download link available please? thanks

Just tried again – still failed. Here is the message:

Destination folder already exists. /home/permacu1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/

Plugin installation failed.

The other thing is that editing the ‘Add an event’ page to say there is a bug dies nothing. My Add an event page uses the code: [event_form] but the text I put above this does not show to users…? What am I doing wrong or is the a setting somewhere that overrides this?

Please help – this is frustrating to our users.

sorry but we are unable to replicate this on our test servers and unfortunately we are quite limited with regards logging-in to wp.org user sites. however, are you using custom event attribute? if yes, maybe you can try something like this https://pastebin.com/umTsf3jG
