    Hi @rickapplin,

    This issue can be caused by your server settings and insufficient permissions.
    Please do a quick conflict test so we can rule out conflicts with your theme or other plugins and see if it helps. Here is the doc on how to do a conflict test if you are not sure how to do it.

    You can also contact your hosting provider for assistance.

    I get the same error on a fresh wordpress install with no other plugins installed. what permissions are required? My hosting provider says it an issue with your plugin? PLEASE HELP. I really like ultimate member but the account activation email is a must for me.

    Is it database permissions, filesystem premissions????
