Bug / improvement? “Never see this message again” msg / form validation error.

    If I have a slide-in on desktop that is the “default” size, and I have the “Never See This Message Again” option enabled, and then I click on the submit button and there’s an error with the form (bad email format, etc), the error message has enough room and pushes the “Never See This Message Again” text down. This is expected.

    If I enable “Custom Size” for the same desktop slide-in, in the same situation, the error text does not push the “Never See This Message Again” text down. The error message appears “behind” it, so you can’t read it. You have to scroll the div down that the main slider is in (above the “Never See This Message Again” text) to see the error message. This might also be the case on mobile, but I didn’t test it.

    Not sure if this is a bug or me just setting things up incorrectly, but I thought I’d share this. I’ll go back to the default size for now, but I’d like to be able to choose custom sizes and still have error messages appear to the user.

    The only way around this that I found was to make the slide-in really tall, but that pushes the “Never See This Message Again” text too far down and looks bad.

    I’ve tested Custom Size with slide-in module on my lab site and I wasn’t able to replicate this issue.

    Can you export your slide-in module so we can check it?

    I already deleted it, unfortunately.

    It was an imported one from Contact Form 7, with just an email field. I had just resized it to be around 400-something by 330 or so, and when I clicked the validation, the error messages were behind the “Never see this again” link. I tried to create a new one and replicate it, but had trouble, so I’ve just got a new one working with the default size.

    Is there any way to undelete it?

    That’s unfortunate as without testing this specific module (or one that behaves exactly the same) any further troubleshooting would, I’m afraid, be just a “guess work” since we can’t replicate it.

    There’s no way to “undelete” it, unfortunately, unless you got some DB (or full) backup that could either be restored to some temporary location or at least “looked into” (e.g. if it’s a standard zip file containing .sql database dumps) to extract data.

    If you have such backup, there’s a chance that it might be possible to retrieve that data but otherwise it would have to be somehow recreated, I’m afraid.

    It’s okay, I’ve created another one with a bit different design and its working well.
