    Hello Yoast-Team,
I really like to use you plugin, but there is a bug in the readability(I am not sure if in every or only in the German version) which makes it hard to use it.

The problem is the “connecting words”, because if I set a link in a sentence, you plugin doesn’t count the “connecting words” in this sentence anymore:-(

Also I figured out, that the mode to see the sentence without the “connecting words” (add a grey background to the sentence) stops when I click somewhere in the text. This makes it really hard to find the problem sentence.

It will be really nice, if you can help me and make you plugin great again.
    Best regards
    Oli

    Hello Oli,

Thanks for reaching out regarding the readability of your site.

By ‘connecting words’, I suspect that you are referring to transition words. Is there specific feedback in the analysis regarding this as the issue is not clear?

Also, you mentioned that the mode to see the sentence without the “connecting words” does not work. This is the eye marker feature. Unfortunately, the eye marker feature is only available in the default Visual editor. If you’re using the WordPress native content editor, please make sure that you’re using the visual editor instead of using the text or code editor mode to make sure that the Yoast SEO eye marker feature can highlight the specific parts of your content. In some cases, you may need to update the content or refresh the page to be able to activate the eye marker.

We look forward to hearing from you.

@maybellyne Thanks very much for your fast answer.

Yes your right, I mean the transition words. About the specific feedback in the analysis, it is like that. If you see, that the percentage isn’t enough and you bring a word in a sentens with a link, that you plugin doesn’t count this word. If I only remove the link, that the word counts.

About the eye marker feature, it working by themself. But only until I make a click in the content. With clicking the eye marker feature deactivate.

I don’t test it to much detailed until now, but it looks like that this issues only happen if you still use the classic editor like me. I was only trying it a short time on gutemberg and there it was looking much better. If it helps, I can also show you the problem in a Skype or so.

    Best regards
    Oli

    Hi @oli89

If you are using the default WordPress block or classic editor, we would expect that the transition words in German would be detected.

As for the eye highlight feature, if you are using the classic editor, you may need to use the ‘convert to blocks’ feature. We would expect that with the block editor, the eye highlight feature would then work.
