Please disable Top Row As Header option and let us know if it fixes your problem.

I’ve tried but it doesn’t keep two nice columns of the same size as on the image. When I remove top as header it puts the first column straight but the second is tiny.

Did you mean that the issue of first column being duplicated is solved but now the columns sizes are messed up?

we have tried to find a solution by all possible means but no solution has been found.
If the fixed top header box is ticked then we have this:

Two columns of the same size, fine but the first one repeats! and we don’t want that.
If we uncheck this top header. Here’s the result:
There are all the elements but they’re not displayed as before.
