It appears that events whose start time and end time fall on different dates don’t display properly.

I run a music venue, and my calendar has many events that start at 10pm and end at midnight. With your calendar plugin, those events are listed twice: at 10pm on the date the event takes place, and again at 10pm the following day.

(I create and edit the event entries with Google Calendar; this data is linked to your app via the Google API. I have tried other WordPress calendar plugins and haven’t run into this problem, which rules out the possibility that the problem is on the Google end.)

You should be able to reproduce the issue easily: With any Google Calendar of yours, create an event that starts at 10pm and ends at 12am. You will then see that in Simple Calendar, the event is listed twice on two consecutive dates, both times starting at 10pm and ending at 12am.

I’m fond of the simple calendar plugin: the features and the look and feel meet my needs well. It would be a bummer to have to abandon it and search for another plugin. It’d be great if this bug could be fixed.

    Many thanks!

Yeah this is an issue because 12am is technically the next day so the plugin is showing it twice because it thinks it is a multi-day event. One way to fix it would be to change the time to 11:59, but this is obviously not a great way to fix this.

We have tried fixing this already so it’s good to know it is still not working correctly. I will take note of it so we can continue to investigate a better way to handle this.

What version of the plugin are you using?

    Thanks for the speedy response!

I was using version 3.0.something, but I just updated to 3.1.2. (Alas, the bug persists in this version.)

Ok thanks for the update. I will check into it as soon as I can.

    Hello,

Since we haven’t heard back from you recently we are going to assume this issue has been resolved. If you continue to experience any problems please open a new thread and we will be glad to help.

    Thanks!

I’m having trouble with this issue. I’m listing classes. I have a class that is 2 days (Saturday & Sunday over the weekend). I’m using the agenda list view and the event shows twice. I was able to use “[start-date] [if-multi-day] – [end-date][/if-multi-day]” to make the date display well, but it being there twice is a problem. Is there any way for Simple calendar to see it as one event that covers 2 days?

I’m changing themes and making a lot of updates, so am working in a staging version that you might not be able to see: http://c6b.62f.myftpupload.com/instruction/

It’s the event on June 10-11. It’s 9-6 both days, so I’d love to be able to use the start/end too be vague about it applying to both days.

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

    MS
