I have a basic Taxonomy field where user can select multiple values.

I am trying to limit it to only allowing selecting a max of 2

But upon saving, it lets me select more than 2 and the rule doesn’t seem to kick in?

Hello,

There’s a misunderstanding here, the value in the Advanced Validation UI is the actual Term ID that has been selected, so it won’t work to set value < 2. You’ll have to to use a custom validation code in order to do what you want to.

Note: I’ll add a new validation in the Advanced Validation UI: count(value) which will work in your case.

I’ll also add new proper min/max settings for all fields where it’s relevant: Taxonomy, Taxonomy Terms, Post Object, Relation, post Types etc… so users can define a minimum or maximum number of items to enter in order to pass validation.
