• Hi, is it possible to associate existing tags with the import of new group tags?

    For example
tags: apple, banana –> group tag: fruit
tags: mercedes, toyota –> group tag: cars

I’ve tons of tags and bulk association is difficult and take a lot of time.

    Thanks

  • You mean using the export/import function?

There is bulk editing on the tags page. You select tags with the checkboxes, then you use the menu “assign to”, choose a group and click “Apply”. That is the easiest method that is available.

    Yes using export/import fucntion.
The bulk editing ism’t applicable for me. It’s a cinema blog so I’ve tons of names (actors, authors, …) and I have the relationship with own group on old db, but doing it manually (also if bulk) takes an infinite time.

Import/export would not help, because it just saves the groups and the settings, but not the tags. You could go directly into the database and change the “term_group” field for all. But that’s beyond what this plugin is able to do.

I understand and it should be nice if it could work with WP All Import (maybe in your premium version).

    Thanks

I don’t know WP All Import. If it can import all your tags from the previous groups so that each group will have it’s number as term_group, then it will work.

I will take a look when I have more time.
