Is there no way to bulk category import through a CSV or some such? I know that categories can be created when a product is imported, but can we not import just categories (with images, descriptions, etc) all at once?

Searching on the WordPress plugin directory this plugin claims to allow for the importation of product categories and may work for you.

I just wanted to follow-up with you on this thread; hope you were able to fix this problem that we had discussed here, about importing products with categories.
