Bulk change Private Posts to Published with plugin or hack

Hi there,

I’m looking for a automatic way to bulk change Private Posts to Published status. I’ve seen there are ways to bulk change Private Posts to Published status by running a MySQL command through MySQL, but I don’t want to mess with MySQL and would like a more passive way to automatically do this. I know bulk editing post status can be done through the default WordPress, but is a slow and manual process for thousands of private posts to be published on a regular basis.

I believe there’s a way to do this adding code to the WordPress theme functions.php that automatically changes Private Posts to Published. I found this solution on a Google search prior, but can’t seem to find it anymore. Any help or suggestions to do this would be much appreciated.
