Thanks for the good words and for your question.
The Media/Assistant submenu table “BULK EDIT” area is opened up by checking the box at the left of one or more items, selecting “Edit” from the “Bulk Actions dropdown at the top-left of the table and then clicking “Apply”. That opens up the bulk edit area you see in the second screen shot.
As you can see in the screen shot, the bulk edit area allows you to assign taxonomy terms to multiple items and to change a couple of fields, e.g., author and parent ID, that make sense as a common value for multiple items.
In the current MLA version, the bulk edit area does not allow you to assign a common value to item-specific fields such as title, caption, ALT text or description. These values are unique to each item, and I could not think of a good reason to include them in the bulk edit area.
You can define custom fields and add them to the bulk edit area. You can also use the IPTC/EXIF mapping rules to assign a common value to fields like the caption, or assign values only to those items that have an empty caption.
It seems dangerous to use bulk edit on standard WordPress fields like the caption or ALT text, but perhaps I am just cautious or unimaginative. If you can make a good case, I will consider adding these fields to the bulk edit area in a future release. If you have an urgent need, I can send you a test copy to play with.
Thanks again for you interest and your understanding.
I think that many people would like the ability to edit these 3 key fields, from what I am seeing on posts.
My issue is that I have thousands of photos already uploaded, and need a quick way to edit especially the three tags that are SEO friendly (for photos already uploaded without them):
– Caption
– Title
– Alt Tag
A bulk file renamer would also be great as well (for SEO), but I can see your point on that being a little risky (a user could really mess things up)…would need to be tested and have safety checks in place on that one.
I do have an urgent need. If you could give me something that would allow at least for editing these 3 items (above), I would be grateful and definitely donate. Not the file renamer, but the other 3, that would be great.
Thank you for your consideration.

Thanks for your update and the additional details regarding your suggestion for bulk editing the “standard” fields.

Thanks for your help, your patience and your interest in the plugin.
I have responded to the message you sent through the Contact Us page.
If you didn’t get my response, try again, perhaps with a different e-mail address. Thanks.
I have released version 1.80, which adds the fields you requested (and a few more) to the Bulk Edit Area.
I am marking this issue resolved, but please let me know if you are still having this problem with the new version. Thank you for your patience.
