Bulk empty excerpts

    Really nice plugin.

    It seems to be impossible to bulk delete excerpts. I have more than 600 Post with a custom exerpt where some shortcodes are in. I changed the system so I need to get rid off all those shortcodes.

    Bulk editing excerpts is working great but I want to have blank excerpts and that’s not working?!

    I’m using a plugin, which generates a button in blank excerpts, I tried to insert blank charatcter but it’s still a charackter and the excerpts are not empty.

    Any suggestions?

    The problem is that for bulk editing, blanks are considered “no change”.

    A couple of plugins that I use for this purpose:

    Search and Replace – Frank Bultge (my fav because it lets you first search the item and gives you all of the potential replace results)

    Find replace – Ramon Fincken, Bas Bosman (less control but still good)

    FYI…there is an excellent plugin: CodePress Admin Columns that allows for a lot of admin column customization…for free…and they have a premium upgrade which is a bit expensive…but it allows for inline editing of over 100 fields (including excerpts) on the admin side and plays nicely with custom post types.

    I wasn’t able to code this functionality this afternoon as quick implementation ran into troubles. Maybe in the upcoming month when next onto this plugin I’ll get this taken care of.

    I can’t use search and replace, cause every excerpt has a unique identifier inside the shortcode.

    That would be really nice, I can wait for this function, I can insert my new button with a shortcode. The only thing is, that the auto generated excerpts are gone. But that’s ok for the first time.
