Bulk import redirecting using CSV or mySQL

I have a network of many sites that have identical category structure and looking to redirect various categories using /category/*, as well as individual pages that I know all have the same slug.

can you advise how to do a bulk import?

I couldn’t quite identify which database tables contain the redirects, I tried to copy a set of redirects entered manually and edited a transient table but it wasn’t the right thing to do

I have both multisite networks and stand alone sites I need to edit and update with redirects (urgently)
