would it be worthwhile to design the plugin so users can add their own custom buttons?
let them upload a graphic, set the text name and the url string for the share button?
could stop you from having to deal with requests regarding this and add a nice feature for everyone else.

It could be a great idea, but the great part of users don’t know how to use an API, or how to find it.
Other way to add a custom button: hooks available, and skills in CSS.
For the moment, custom buttons are not a priority (for me). But I keep this idea in my mind 😉
