Buttonlink to subpage do not work

Hi,

I am working on my localhost with XAMPP on a mac. I was able to download my static page, with all subpages in their corresponding folder. But when I go to the static homepage and click on a button it does not work and I get a 404 error.

I went into the index.html file of the static homepage and found out that the button looks like this:

```
it is stll linking to an index.php file. This is the button on the dynamic wordpress homepage:

```
The link wasnt change correctly. I am not sure what what is going on or how to fix this.

I am running Version 3.2.7.1 of simply static, wordpress 6.7.2 and elementor 3.27.6

thanks for reaching out!

I woulld recommend using the “Force URL replacements” setting in Simply Static -> Settings -> General -> Replace URLs

This should ensure that the button URL is updated as well.

Local Development:

One thing I want to mention is that we highly recommend using LocalWP instead of XAMPP if your are not comfortable touching the configuration files: https://docs.simplystatic.com/article/56-how-to-fix-problems-with-your-local-development-tool

thank your for the answer!

But it still doesn’t work. The example I send you was done with absolute url and the forced URL replacement.

And thank you for the recommendation. Do you think that usind LocalWP would solve my issue?

Hey @gbicdmn,

thanks for the update!

I don’t think you have to switch to LocalWP right away, it’s just something to keep in mind for the future (especially if you run into any memory-related issues).

I wonder if the problem has something to do with Elementor’s performance settings – maybe the button is loaded with lazy loading? So that it isn’t part of the page right away?
