I currently have Cache Enabler version 1.7.2. It’s ready to update to the next version but when I click on “update now” I get this message: Update failed: error

This happens when I manually update it. It doesn’t update with auto-update either.

This has been happening for the last 45 days. I try updating it everyday and it fails each time.

I have the most recent version of WordPress.

    Thanks for your input.

Are both your wp-content and wp-content/plugins directories writable? A quick way to check this is in your Site Health Info in your WordPress admin (Tools > Site Health > Info > Filesystem Permissions).

If no, can you please try updating the permissions of these directories to 755 (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/changing-file-permissions/)?

If yes, is the server user that PHP is running under have the right permissions? If you happen to have a managed host they may be able to check this for you.
