Caching database prevents entry population (clear cache?)

Thank you for a wonderful plugin. My question is when selecting the caching option for speed, sometimes some of the citations do not populate, and all I see is []. When I turn the option off, the entries populate properly, but the page takes a while to load. I have my .bib file loaded on the server and not hosted elsewhere (it’s not that large ~ 280 entries).

Also, I had two .bib files, and deleted one, yet the dashboard still showed that it was cached. Could that have anything to do with it?
