I have installed the free version of The Event Calendar on my test environment (clean and fresh WordPress instance) – everything works fine as expected.

Now I have installed it on my produktion environment. I have also set exactlie the same configurations.

I have created a new calender-embed – in the preview it looks like expected:

Than I have copied the snipped into a HTML block of a new page. when I open this page I got this:

No Idea whats going wrong and how I could fix it

Have tested a several things like deaktivating all Plugins – no change

finaly I changed the template – works

There is a conflict with the Template Shapely Version: 1.2.19 from Colorlib

So it looks like I can’t use The Event Calendar plugin, if I don’t want to rebild my websit …. or do you have a fix for me?

    Hi @vbueschken ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

It sounds like you’re using the Calendar Embed functionality, which was developed to to allow you to embed a calendar from your website to an external website (see Embed Your Events Calendar on Any External Website).

Since you’re trying to embed an events archive (or calendar) page on the same website here, I recommend you consider using the Calendar Embed Block or the Calendar Embed Shortcodes.

@tristan083 – Thanks for your response

Regarding to the documentation the shortcuts are only available in the PRO edition…. the shortcuts dont work for me.

The Calender Embed Block is not available in Block editor when I try to create a new page (also a PRO Feature ?) or missed I something in the setup?

    Hi @vbueschken ,

    Thank you for your message.

You are correct, both the Calendar Embed Block or the Calendar Embed Shortcodes are features that ships with the Events Calendar Pro add-on. If you’d like to know more on this, kindly open a Support Ticket on our Help Desk in order to adhere to the WordPress Forum Guidelines regarding premium add-ons.

So that means the “free version” is completely useless because you can’t view the calendar?

That’s a real shame, especially since the advertising on the homepage says something different.

    Thanks for your support anyway.

    Hi @vbueschken

As an alternative, you can use this third-party plugin to embed your calendar directly into your post or page:

This third-party plugin also requires a pro version of the third-party plugin to display a calendar.

    HI @vbueschken ,

Thank you for your message, and I apologize for the confusion.

To be clear, you should be able to view the events archive (or calendar) page without the need for any embed functionality. This is done by visiting your Events URL slug in Events -> Settings -> General (tab) -> Viewing (sub-tab), as illustrated on this link.

You can also set the calendar as your home page (see Set the Calendar as the Homepage).
