How about adding support for captions..
Hi @ppnsteve! We’ve added separate support for caption / alt / title in the Pro Lighbox already (you can show any one of those or any combination in the caption area). And we’re looking at adding it for the free lightboxes. Thanks for the extra vote in favor! We’ll move it up the priority list.
Other potential features on our radar (for free or Pro) that you can comment or vote on:
- Additional lightbox styles. Right now, the free version just offers three very similar versions of Fancybox. We will likely add 1-2 other free lightbox, such as PhotoSwipe or others.
- Display Exif data. This is already in progress. You’ll soon be able to display exif data in the caption area (Camera, Lens, Aperature, Exposure, ISO, etc).
- Image commenting. This is also in progress. There will be a sidebar you can toggle open/closed that will contain an image commenting interface.
- Social sharing. Just a note that this was released (for Pro) a couple week ago.
- More integration with page builder or block plugin galleries. We have done Elementor. Others would include Beaver Builder, Kadence, Spectra, Otter Blocks, etc.
- More integration with other galleries. We have done NextGEN Gallery. Others include Modula, Envira, Photo Gallery, etc.
- WooCommerce integrations.
- Replace custom css classes with block controls. Right now, the plugin often asks users to add custom CSS classes or attributes. That is old school. We’re considering adding simple toggle controls to Image, Gallery, and other blocks to turn the lightbox on or off.
- More and better options for creating and managing popup modals.
- Analytics. Something that shows how many times images have been views in the lightbox (overall total plus per-page totals).
- Open portfolio and other custom post type lists in the lightbox. This would likely include the ability to show details about the portfolio or other item in the sidebar, which would allow you to use custom templates for the content.
+1 for Image commenting! This will be a huge improvement for social engagement. Would love to see support for wpDiscuz which is by far the #1 rated comment plugin for WordPress. It allows AJAX posting/editing/deleting, has an option for shortcode [wpdiscuz_comments], and loads where comment_form() function is used. It natively supports media pages. Hundreds of other unmentioned settings.
– Support for Da Reactions. The ability to react to photos and photo comments would be a dream come true! Da Reactions out of the box supports reactions to posts, attachments, comments, and attachment comments! They have an API along with shortcode support. Of all the WP reaction plugins it’s the best!
– Ability to display data from image attributes via jQuery or hook. I have information such as author, upload date, and custom fields in attributes.
– Option for single click/touch to zoom into image. It’s so much more enjoyable than double click.
The roadmap above looks great and the display of firelight lightbox is one of the best! Looking forward to it. 🙂
Warm regards,
Josh- Integration with Modula gallery.
- Option to not group all images in case of more than 1 gallery on a page / post.
- More ‘modern’ Previous / Next arrows, or choice between different arrows.
Thanks!

I would very much like to see an option to display panoramic, not 360-degrees but stitched for wide view, images by fitting them in the maximum height and allowing the user move it to the right and left. An option to display the entire panorama on demand would be the icing on the cake.
I have searched a panoramic image plugin but they are all designed for 360-degree VR viewing. There is a plugin that does it on single images. Something like that in the lightbox would be super:

How about it?
