Greetings!

The Photo Album Plus is consistently generating this error:

[proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 1520889:tid 1520902] [client 66.42.61.105:0] AH01071: Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /var/www/vhosts/nicholasthompsonartworks.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp-photo-album-plus/wppa-users.php:135

Any thoughts?

The function wp_get_current_user() exists already more than 10 years and should be available.

Maybe you have any ‘optimizing’ plugin active that changes the load of wp php files.
Try to deactivate any optimizing plugin to find out what the cause is.

It looks like the problem may have been inadequate PHP memory settings which was causing another plugin to also misfunction. That has since been reset and seems to have addressed both that issue and this one.
